- On February 3, Volusia county council will decide to support or oppose certain state or federal regulations, among them the TABOR and similar legislation designed to cap revenue and limit spending (please see Agenda Item 1, page 10).
I seriously question whether an elected or representative governing body should be putting forth its own agenda regarding the actions of legislature…did we elect them to do that?

Volusia County currently owns 33,783 acres, or 20.9 % of total land (excluding bodies of water) valued at $3,107,000,000 (yes, that’s billions) effectively removing $18,339,067.5 (yup, that’s millions) in revenue from county coffers if taxed at current millage of 5.9025
