Did you know?

  • On February 3, Volusia county council will decide to support or oppose certain state or federal regulations, among them the TABOR and similar legislation designed to cap revenue and limit spending (please see Agenda Item 1, page 10).
I seriously question whether an elected or representative governing body should be putting forth its own agenda regarding the actions of legislature…did we elect them to do that?
  • On January 20, 2011 County Council spent $14,177,123 in a single vote!

  • That Volusia County is a member of  United Nation’s ICLEI that is dictating County what to do? Read this!   And that Pat Northey (who is a member of ICLEI and voted FOR membership) but then denied knowing anything about it?
  • Volusia County currently owns 33,783   acres, or 20.9 % of total land (excluding bodies of water) valued at $3,107,000,000 (yes, that’s billions) effectively removing $18,339,067.5 (yup, that’s millions) in revenue from county coffers if taxed at current millage of 5.9025
  • County Council does not want to hear differing views from advisory boards. Listen here to the audio: cussack jan6
